What do you need to do in order to join the study?

To participate in the I3 research study, the study staff will review the study and consent form with you before signing. Then, you will need to fill out a background questionnaire. When you have a routine colonoscopy, you will fill out an additional brief questionnaire. During your routine colonoscopy, up to 10 additional biopsies will be obtained and one vial of blood will be drawn.

Additional questions can be addressed in the FAQ page:
FAQ
If you are interested in providing tissue samples for additional studies related to IBD, we also have an ongoing effort to build a comprehensive IBD tissue database. By collecting tissue we will be able to build a tissue bank, a place to store samples so they can be used for future studies. The ultimate goal of this imitative is to improve overall IBD care by making a database that can identify a large number of contributing factors to IBD, can identify therapies which may work best for certain patients, and may identify patients who are at a higher risk for complications from their IBD. This personalized approach to care will aim to optimize the benefits of therapies and minimize the risks. There is nothing additional that you need to do except check the box on the consent form to participate in future studies.
