Alexandra Weiss, MD joined the Penn Medicine faculty in 2020 and is currently an assistant professor of clinical medicine in the division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. She completed Internal Medicine internship and residency at Temple University Hospital and her general gastroenterology fellowship at Cooper University Hospital, and then completed an Advanced Inflammatory Bowel Disease fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania where she stayed on as faculty. She is passionate about providing patient centered care to patients with IBD. In addition to her robust clinical practice, Dr. Weiss has a special interest in women's health and serves at the EHR GI Governance Lead where she is able to integrate her passion for direct patient care with her interest in leveraging technology to improve patient care delivery mechanisms.
